- You may visit nearest IELTS officials who provide free resources. There are also free online practice test available which further help you to stand in extreme conditions.
- Make habit in your routine life to watch English news channel, English movie, serials or documentaries at least for 1-2 hours every day. Also reading English newspapers, magazines or literates, novels everyday will be helpful to improve your reading section.
- Discuss your weaknesses and progress with tutors on a regular basis to evaluate yourself. Make habit of debating with friends and family on various topics you come across a day while IELTS reading, watching and coaching.
- MAXIMIZE practice-testing: Individual must not undervalue the section in which they have strength. Do not give importance only to your weakness area. Time to time do evaluation of you and change your time management according to the test practice needed in each section. Make habit of studying in intervals. Take rest of 5-10 minutes after each 30-40 minutes of study period. Try to avoid long break of vacations while preparing for IELTS examinations. And always remember your goal and walk towards it slowly and steadily.
- Focus on live and forget you missed: Many students, who scored less than they are capable of, complaint that they did not get enough time to listen audio clip or clip was so fast. But more than that those students always make a mistake of distracting their minds to recap what they have missed while listening to audio clip and they further miss the live content as well. You need to make a habit of calculative guess. Answers are hidden in about 10% of audio clip only so even if you miss a few bytes, don’t worry. Just focus on live clip. Listening, Reading and Writing section generally come in order in IELTS examination and by doing enough test practice you train your mind to expect what is coming next and prepare your mind to remain alert for that much longer period.
- Right time to study: Study says that reading done within 2 hours after wake up, remain stored in memory 3 times longer than reading done on other time during the day. So one should use that time to increase vocabulary. Also the mind concentration is much more effective in morning hours so try to maximise that hours of days for IELTS preparation.
- Try to avoid whole night studies because that way we are deteriorating efficiency and wasting time as well. Eat super foods which content more antioxidants. That will keep your brain fresh to concentrate on preparation. Also do some cardio exercise for 5-10 minutes every day. That will improve blood supply in brain, result in good memory
